bunch of misc. news
It's official! Dad and Joan were married June 28th in Victor, IA and my brother and I are so happy that they have found each other. We had a fantastic time at the reception and enjoyed watching the kids dance. Even Mason found a dance partner. A chair! LOL He pushed that chair around the dance floor all night long.
Eve and Julia had their first fight over a boy. It wasn't fun to see their little feelings hurt but it was pretty cute to see them get so worked up over a little boy. I see a scrapbook page coming in the future! LOL

It was a busy week leading up to the 4th of July. Kyle had 2 summer programs going at once and before we knew it Thursday was upon us. We went to the 61 Drive-In with mom, Warren, Tim, Katie, Julia and Mason. Lots of fun! They were playing Kung Fu Panda and the new Hulk movie. I tried to stay awake through 2 movies but must admit I was dozing off in the lawn chair. It was 1:15 am when we headed for home! Kyle also tried to stay awake for the Hulk movie but I think he zonked around midnight.
Friday morning Kyle had to be at the fairgrounds to ride on the Cub Scout float. Jason ended up riding on another scout float that needed an adult on it so he was in the parade too. Mom and Warren were here for the parade as well as Adam and his kids and my friend Laura and her family. Watching all the kids sit on the curb waiting for the parade was pretty cute. Although not all of them were fans of the loud sirens as firetrucks from all the small towns around here came by.
There's Kyle!
Later that evening we headed to Grand Mound for fireworks. About midway through the show Jenevieve started whining about being tired and wanting to go home to her bed. She usually really enjoys the fireworks but I guess she was just too tired to care. She was a trooper though and hung in there until the end.
Face painting in Grand Mound. (Kyle got a snake and Eve got a flower)
Sat. night we were off to the races. Jason was given free tickets to the Maquoketa stock car races so we packed up the kids and were out the door. Jason's mom, grandparents and uncle were all there so it was nice for him to get to catch up with them a bit. Kyle ran around and played with some other boys that were there and Jenevieve buddied up with the little girl sitting behind us. They had fireworks after the races that night but Jenevieve fell asleep before they even started. Guess the sound of the races puts her to sleep the same way it does me. It's my favorite noise. :)
Sunday we watched Adam's kids since he had to work. Then we had supper and Adam, Jason and the kids all took off to go fishing. And I enjoyed some much needed quiet time after a busy weekend. Best part? Jenevieve caught a good size catfish on her tiny little Barbie fishing pole! She was totally tickled!
It was a pretty awesome weekend! Hope yours was just as good!
