I really haven't been trying to ignore my blog, I just hadn't been able to get logged in for some reason. :(
BUT, I'm back and ready to update you on all the craziness lately. We finally got a call from the contractor saying they are ready to start working on the house. He said it could be as early as tomorrow (the 11th) but most likely they will start on Monday. They are going to start with the garage first (siding, roof, new garage door and gutters) and then will do the roof on the house. After that they will begin replacing the windows, painting trim and doing the kitchen. That's when we'll have to leave the house and be relocated. We still have no idea where we'll be relocated to or for how long.
Kyle celebrated his birthday over the weekend. We had 2 parties in one day but it was fun. First we had a party for him and a couple friends at McDonalds in the playplace. Unfortunately only 2 kids came so he was bummed but the 2 that came are the kids he plays with the most so I figure at least his true friends were there. McDonalds provided cake, ice cream and a small drink for the kids with the package so it was a complete b-day party. After that we went to the park for his 2nd party. We had reserved the pavillion but the city goofed up and never came and hung up the sign saying it was reserved. So when we arrived there was already another large group set up there. We decided to let the kids run around and play for a bit and then we all headed to our house to grill out and have supper. Jason grilled some fresh asparagus and Mike fried up morels for us. Super yummy! Kyle was spoiled rotten with birthday presents and has many thank yous to write. It was a great day!
As many of you have probably already heard, my brother broke his foot in a 4-wheeler accident. And not just a little break either. He actually had a bone sticking up through the top of his foot! He had to have surgery and is now the owner of a metal plate and 6 screws. THEN, to top things off, after surgery he had an allergic reaction to the pain medicine they gave him and broke out in hives. He's recovering pretty well and is going in today to hopefully get a cast put on. But the hives are still very irritating and add to his discomfort. So keep him in your thoughts and say a prayer for a fast recovery.
I have more updates to write a bit later but Jenevieve has preschool and I need to get her hair done so we can go. That's a battle in itself. :(
I'll be back a bit later to write more and add some pictures and recent scrapbook pages. Bye for now!
