Jason and I celebrated my birthday over the weekend. Yep, I'm officially 30 now. Wow, how did that happen? It's hard to believe that not only am I 30 but Jason and I have been together for almost 14 years now (married 9), we have son who is almost 6, our "baby" is 4 already, we've been living back in DeWitt for 4 years, and it's all snuck up on me! LOL The years just seem to be flying by.
We had a great day out though. Tim and Katie took the kids overnight for us which was awesome! THANK YOU GUYS!!!! In an attempt to stay ahead of the bad weather that was coming our way we started the day early. We headed to Davenport and went out for lunch then headed to the mall where we got our picture taken together for the first time since right after we were married. It was actually pretty fun. I'll post the picture on here. (taken at the Picture People) After that we walked around the mall for a while killing time until the pictures would be ready for pick up. During that time we found a new pair of shoes for Jason and a new shirt for me. It was sidewalk sale time so there were lots of bargains. Once our pictures were done we headed over to the theater to see Stomp The Yard. At first I don't think Jason or I were very impressed with the way the movie started and were questioning why we chose to see it. But it quickly takes a turn and gets pretty good. We enjoyed it. After the movie we went out to eat at Red Lobster. We headed home after that before the weather got any worse. Once home we just snuggled on the couch and watched a movie I'd rented from the library. And in the morning we were able to sleep in which was wonderful!!! Haven't done that in ages!
Then Tim and Katie cooked me a birthday breakfast at their house Sunday morning. Super yummy! They went all out. Biscuits and gravy, french toast, omelets. The works. Later Jason and Tim tackled a bathroom project while Katie and I went and did a bit of shopping. The weather got kind of bad so we headed back to their house and enjoyed a wonderful supper prepared by Katie. I'm always jealous of her cooking ability. Jason and I then made our way home in the icy, snowy weather. Thankfully Tim let us borrow his 4x4 truck since my van has a broken transmission right now. I was happy to be driving his truck in that crappy weather. I was feeling bad for Jason as he slipped and slided his way home in the Ranger but when we parked and I saw the beaming smile on his face I knew that he'd enjoyed the wild ride a bit too much. LOL
It was a fantastic weekend!
Back to the usual routine now though. Time to get the kids baths. They both have school tomorrow and Jenevieve's hair is full of knots as usual. But will she let me cut it? Nope.
Thanks for checking in!
