Preschool Open House

Jenevieve got to tour her preschool class room today and meet her teachers. She was right at home in the classroom. Although mainly she just wanted to play with the kitchen set and put all the babies to night-night. Such a little mommy! :)
She'll start on Tuesday and even though she's incredibly excited, I'm a bit sad to realize that my youngest child is already starting preschool.

Kyle had another wonderful day at school. He's really enjoying art and music class. He loves P.E. because to him it's like another recess. We just got papers sent home today explaining when show-and-tell will start, who's in charge of bringing snacks, and all that other fun stuff. I'm hoping to go and sign him up for soccer tomorrow if there's still openings available. And Kyle also wants to join the kid's bowling team but we need to find out more about that first. I'm kind of surprised that he has interest in these things since Jason and I are not at all athletic. But it will be good for him and I'm glad he wants to participate.

I snapped a couple really quick pictures of Jenevieve today as we were heading to the van. They aren't the best quality but she was showing so much personality that I couldn't resist posting them anyway. My Little Pony tattoo and all. lol

Hope everyone has a great night. I have some scrapbooking stuff to get done so I'm off to focus on that. :)

A Great First Day!

Kyle started kindergarten today. Can you believe it??? My baby, in kindergarten! He was really excited to go though. We had open house night last Thursday and he got to take in all his supplies, meet his teacher, see his classroom, etc. After that he couldn't wait to start. We also found out that the neighbor boy that he hangs out with will be in his class. That helped make him feel more comfortable about going too.

Dropping him off this morning was hard. They don't allow parents to walk the kids to their rooms so we all just take turns driving up and dropping them off. Then a teacher's aide or teacher walks them to their room. I did fine until Jenevieve and I were driving away and she asked where "her Kyle" was going. I got choked up as I told her that he was going to kindergarten. :(

But, on a posative note, picking him up was wonderful! His teacher walked him to the car door and said that they had a great first day! To which Kyle responded, "I had so much fun!" Made my day! He said that they had to write their name and draw a picture of themselves, he told me about lunch time and said that he sat with the neighbor boy at lunch, and told me all about P.E. class. After I picked him up I took him to get an ice cream cone at the Dairy Treat and then we headed home for him to watch a movie that I'd gotten at the library. I came in here to start editing the pictures I took of him and called out to him. After getting no verbal response I went to check on him and...he's asleep on the couch! lol I guess kindergarten tuckered him out.

Hopefully tomorrow will go just as well for him and he'll continue to like school. Keep your fingers crossed!

The top picture is from Open House night and the rest are from today.

a few more

And some more pics. :)

Here are a few pics from this weekend. :)

Wonderful Weekend!

We took our first real family vacation since the kids have been born this weekend. We had a wonderful time! We didn't do anything overly elaborate but it was plenty. Saturday morning we headed for Adventureland. The kids were overwhelmed with excitement. Especially Kyle! And as a surprise to them we make a pit-stop to pick up their Grandpa Steve who came along with us. Once at the amusement park the kids didn't know where to start first. It took Kyle a little bit to get used to waiting in line and being patient but once they got the hang of how things worked around there, they both did great! We were really proud of how well behaved they were for us. Jenevieve had one small fit that was short lived and the only trouble we had with Kyle was he liked to push and shove a bit. But overall they were troopers. They'd been up since 5:30 am and it was after 9pm when we left the park! And then all they wanted to do was go to the hotel and swim. I couldn't believe they still had energy left! It was after 11pm before they fell asleep. The next morning we went and had breakfast and then they swam a bit more before we had to check-out. After that we went to visit their Grandpa Larry and his girlfriend Joan. We had a really nice visit, watched a movie, ate supper and then headed out. It was just a little after 11pm when we got home last night. Today I'm trying to get caught up on unpacking, washing dirty laundry, etc. All the not so fun stuff of being away. lol But we truly had a great time and I'm glad that our first mini family vacation was such a pleasurable one. I'm going to try to add pictures in a seperate post because it's not letting me in this one. Keep your fingers crossed that it'll work! :)

Something New For Me! :)

I'm so excited! I am in NO way a designer but I found a way that I can contribute to the digital scrapping world. Templates are the latest craze so I created a few sets of them and Brenda Kempf has been kind enough to allow me to sell them in her store. :) I'm including a preview of the templates I made and each one is based off a layout I created in the past.

Hope you like them and for any of my digital scrapping friends, here's a link to where they can be purchased. There's a couple try before you buy freebies there as well.

Thanks for looking! :)

kitty

Wanted to share another picture of our kitty. I think he's oficially here to stay. He's really taken to the kids, as well as me. And even Jason is tolerating him. He's really in a playful stage and it's fun to watch him practice his pouncing. He chases anything and everything that moves. He still needs a name though. Any suggestions? I'm open to ideas. :)

a pic for you

Meant to share this earlier and forgot. I couldn't resist taking a picture of the moon last night because it was so low in the sky, big and orange. I had gone for a walk and ended up coming back home for my camera so I could photograph it. I'm just proud of myself for getting more than just a big white blob in the sky like I usually do when I try to take pictures of the moon. lol I took several but they pretty much all look alike so I'll just post this one shot. Thanks for taking a peek. :)

couple more

Here are a couple more pages that I haven't shared yet. The Dishpan Hands layouts uses Faith True's True Paisley kit and the Little Lady page uses the Caden's Bug Garden kit by Tamara Dantes. (both kits available at www.addictedtodigital.com)
I also did an Easter layout using products found at www.kathrynbalint.com
Enjoy! :)

Well, Jason just left for Chicago to pick up David and Roxie. He'll be home around 1 or 2 am. Thankfully Paula decided to ride with him so now I'm not so worried about him falling asleep at the wheel. And it's nice to know he's not traveling alone.

I have to share the latest layout I did of Julia. My friend Laura got me hooked on scrapbooking templates. They are super fast and super easy premade designs that I just add papers and extra stuff into. And voila I have a finished page. This one is a freebie offered by Faith True at One Of A Kind Scrapz. I also used a kit from Faith called True Desire (one of my favorite kits right now!). It's also available at One Of A Kind Scrapz as well as at Addicted To Digital. I know this is an older pic of Julia but I'm trying to get caught up. I've fallen behind I'm afraid. :(

Kyle's watching a movie upstairs and Jenevieve fell asleep on the couch. (kinda late in the day for a nap but at least if she's up late tonight i'll have someone to keep me company with Jason gone) So, since I have this bit of silence in the house, I'm going to try to get some more scrapping done.

here kitty kitty

Well, here's the kitty that has adopted us. :)
It was living next door at the neighbor's house but has come to live under our deck now. He's been here about 5 days or so now and shows no signs of leaving. So, since the kids are absolutely in the love with the darn thing we'll let it hang out here. He's kinda cute (despite the silly picture of him i'm posting). I'll post more later. Time for lunch.

tuckered out

I'm tired and ready for bed so this will be short. Today I took the kids to McDonald's and let them play in the playplace for about an hour and a half. Then I babysat the neighbor boys this afternoon so they continued to play hard. After Jason got home then they went over to the neighbor's house and played some more. Needless to say, the kids are 100% tuckered out and in bed.

I'll share the layouts I got done today and then I'm off to bed myself. :)
The one of Kyle as a baby uses Faith True's Toddler Boy kit (www.addictedtodigital.com) and the one of Julia uses kits found at www.kathrynbalint.com Most pieces on that layout are by Kathryn Balint and Kelly Sauvage. Hope you like them.

See you in the morning.

playing catch up

I knew my to-do list today was long since I took a lazy day yesterday. But man oh man, it's almost 4:30 pm and I'm just getting most of it done. I've done 4 loads of laundry (finally tackled the big mess that was upstairs), 2 loads of dishes in the dishwasher (cleaned out the fridge after doing the first load and needed to do a second one!), picked up some needed paperwork for the kids' school registration, stopped for ice cream because we needed a pick-me-up (hee hee), and now I'm babysitting the 3 boys that live next door. Doesn't sound like much but it sure ate up my day!

I did manage to squeeze in 2 layouts as well. When I could steal the computer away from Kyle that was. LOL He's actually breathing down my neck right now because he wants to show his friends a game on here. So for now I'll post the 2 layouts and maybe write more later. These are 2 VERY different styles of scrapbook pages. One is a heritage layout created for a challenge hosted by Kay Eflin at www.kathrynbalint.com and the other is a fun pic of me and the kids created using a kit by Faith True called True Desire (www.addictedtodigital.com).

I'm off to supervise 5 kids! :)

Lazy Day

Well, I went from having a productive day to a completely lazy day. Today was race day so mainly we just watched the race and hung out. Jason and the kids went over to the neighbor's and played for quite a while. They are good and tuckered out now. :)

I got a bit of scrapping in today and will post them here.
The pool one uses Kathryn Balint's Retro Beach kit and the one of Kyle as a baby uses Melany Violette's Baby You're My Star kit.

My to-do list for tomorrow is huge since I didn't get anything done today so I think I'm going to call it an early night and get rested up for the morning. Have a great night!

Productive Day

Hi everyone! We managed to not only get the windows installed today (thanks to the help of our friend!) but we also made a trip to do our school shopping tonight. Yay, we were able to take advantage of the tax free weekend! :)
Kyle and Jenevieve both got new shoes. Something desperately needed for Jenevieve because she keeps growing out of her shoes as fast as I buy them. Kyle found some Superman shoes that he just had to have. Plus he got his pair for gym class. He has all his needed school supplies now so I guess the next big step is registration. That'll be at the middle of this month. I think he's starting to get more excited about kindergarten but I think he's also a bit nervous and scared as well. Mainly he's looking forward to recess, craft time and field trips.

We aquired a stray kitten today. It'd been hanging out under the neighbor's shed for a few weeks now but yesterday it wandered up here and hasn't left yet. It was pretty timid any time I'd seen it next door but it follows Jenevieve around here like it's her shadow. I don't know if we're going to keep it or what but the kids are sure attached to it already. Jason's less than thrilled about the idea so we'll see what happens. He's a super cute little thing though.

Lastly I wanted to share a layout I created today using a picture of my Grandma and Grandpa Lingle. I wish I knew what year this picture was taken but I just love this picture of them together. Silly as it may be.
Journaling Says:It’s funny, when I met with Grandma Lingle to get some pictures from her to scrap I fell in love with this one. She almost didn’t let me have it because she thinks it’s a silly picture of her andGrandpa. That’s the main reasonI wanted it.Since Grandpa died when I was only 3 I don’thave any many memories of him as I’d like. This shows the fun side of them.

This layout was created using the A Day To Remember kit by Janna Billman.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Have a great night!

Kyle's Layout

For some reason I wasn't able to upload this one in my last post so I'm adding it here.

Boring Day Today

Nothing exciting to report today I'm afraid. I've been incredibly tired and sluggish lately. I think it's from the heat. It's hard to feel motivated to do much when I know that I'll just be dripping from sweat if I do. I know, I'm a wimp. LOL

Since I don't have anything wonderful or fantastic to yack about, I'm going to share 2 more of my latest scrapbook pages. The one of Jenevieve is one I've been wanting to do for a while now. I jotted down some of her favorite things as well as my favorite things about her. For anyone who hasn't heard her say this, she has the cutest way of mispronouncing eyelash. She calls an eyelash an ashwhy. I think it's cute so I wanted to at least get it documented somewhere.

We're going school supply shopping this weekend. Gotta take advantage of the tax free weekend to get some back-to-school clothes too. Jason's installing the windows in my office this weekend (hopefully!) and his friend is coming over to help him out tomorrow. So I'm hoping that this means that I'll be able to sneak away for a bit to go do the shopping. But I'll probably have to wait until Sunday afternoon to go. That way he'll be finished with his project. Of course, if the kids start getting in his way he'll probably beg me to go just to get them out of his hair. LOL

Oh, Jenevieve has been trying to learn to write her name. Of course we're only having her write Eve not Jenevieve. Might as well start out easy. She's gotten pretty good at it. She usually has one E at one spot on the page, the V somewhere else and another E tucked in wherever there's room. She hasn't gotten very good at lining them all up yet. But at least she's trying. She's trying to learn to tie shoes too. Which is pretty impresive since Kyle still has no interest in learning that. We've been trying and trying to get him to learn for kindergarten but he's being stubborn about it.

Well, Jason's doing a side job tonight so he'll be home late. Guess I better go figure out what the kids and I will eat for supper. Have a wonderful evening everyone! :)

ETA-Both layouts were made using Melany Violette's Whimsy kit.

Another Zoo Page

I also wanted to create just a silly page from our day at our zoo. The journaling around the picture says, It was effortless for us to get you guys to stand by the statue and act like apes. It came naturally.

These are some cute little monkeys if you ask me. :)

This layout was created using Saskia Bokker's Wild Package Deal.

I wanted to share the latest scrapbook page I did. These are some pics from our playdate at the zoo. This was before Kyle started having all the pain and ended up in the hospital. :(
And the day started so wonderfully, too bad it didn't stay that way.

This layout was created using Kim Johnson's Oh Happy Day kit.

Last night we attended an event that was put on by our local Police Department. They had games and activities for the kids as well as free pony rides. It was SO hot but the kids had fun. We even ran into the neighbor kids there so they all ran wild together. Free hotdogs and bottles of water too so we couldn't complain. :)

I'm posting a few pictures from the event but most of mine didn't turn out the greatest. I wasn't feeling well in the heat so most of them were taken a little too quickly and came out blurry. Oops.

Well, it's lunch time so I'd better go figure out what I'm going to make. Have a great day everyone!
